Bringing Connected Mobility to Market.

Chariot Living has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Swyft Cities to collaborate on integrating elevated autonomous mobility into future developments.

This relationship creates a pathway for bringing advanced transportation technology into the communities Chariot Living helps plan and deliver.

Rather than developing an entirely new transportation system from the ground up, Chariot Living is focused on integrating emerging mobility technologies into buildings, neighborhoods, campuses, and mixed-use developments while contributing our own innovations around the built environment.

Swyft Cities Roots at Google

Google needed to find a way to better connect their campuses and allow for more dense, multi-use development.

Transportation solutions of all types were reviewed, but none solved the district-level connectivity problem. The team engaged Holmes Solutions to advance their innovative, emerging technology.

Prototypes demonstrated effectiveness, low cost, modular construction and sustainability. Development continued, creating the transportation technology known as Whoosh®.

Today, Swyft Cities is the sole licensee of Whoosh® Transportation Technology in North America and other designated geographies. Swyft Cities spun out of Google to commercialize these systems for the world and is developing proprietary control systems to help supercharge Whoosh functionality.

Working with an expanding network of partners, Swyft Cities brings a seasoned team with extensive experience delivering large-scale infrastructure and urban mobility projects.

Whoosh® Solutions

Whoosh® combines the best parts of ride-hailing services with elements of the urban gondola industry to create an entirely new elevated transportation mode. Using the Whoosh App, riders can hail or pre book an autonomous electric vehicle that speeds along elevated guideways to the nearest station for rider pick up. Once on board, riders are whisked away to their chosen location, gliding non-stop above the traffic below.

Whoosh vehicles use upwards of 50% less energy when compared to road based EVs because they maintain a higher average occupancy and travel non-stop, reducing wasted energy from stopping, braking, or traffic jams. Whoosh enables trips that are more energy efficient, faster, and safer - providing a truly unique travel experience on a dedicated, elevated guideway.

Whoosh’s small footprint and lightweight guideway allow it to be installed along existing roads or other terrain without disrupting or impacting current travel options. The system has small station options that are convenient for riders to access. With no moving parts, the guideway is low cost, simple to install, and easy to modify - allowing Whoosh networks to be expanded as demand grows.

Global trials of on-demand micro-transit have been wildly popular, with riders enjoying the freedom provided. Unfortunately, most of these trials are proving to be unsustainable as the systems cannot be economically scaled as demand grows. Whoosh breaks this pattern with full autonomy, low energy costs, and minimal maintenance requirements - allowing the fractional cost of Whoosh to reduce as demand increases.

Retrofit Existing Communities

Communities shouldn't become obsolete every time transportation advances.

Chariot Living is developing integration strategies that can be applied to both new developments and existing communities. That includes opportunities to retrofit buildings, parking structures, mixed-use developments, and community infrastructure as new mobility technologies become available.

By designing for adaptability from the beginning, communities can evolve over time rather than requiring expensive reconstruction whenever transportation systems change.

Hyper Chariot represents Chariot Living's long-term exploration of high-speed mobility and next-generation transportation concepts for regional and intercity travel. 

While Chariot Living is focused on connecting people within communities, Hyper Chariot explores how those same communities may one day be connected to each other through advanced transportation technologies, including magnetic levitation.

Although this work remains a long-term vision, it reflects the same guiding principle that has shaped Chariot Living from the beginning:
